Analysis of T cell movement within diverse tissues to enhance immune responses

Project Investigator: David Torres

Project Description:  T cells are a type of white blood cell and are critical to the immune response by eliminating infected cells and cancerous cells.  We will study the movement of T cells within lymph nodes, lung, female reproductive tract, and intestinal tract using data from mice.  We are particularly interested in the speed, frequency and angle of turns, and tendency to linger in a specific localized area.  Our analysis will lead to a better understanding of how T cells patrol different tissues.
