As summer starts to wind down, we’ve rounded up some free educational resources for the classroom and beyond!
Free biomedical engineering lesson plans: Last year, NIBIB solicited lesson plans geared towards middle schoolers to explain biomedical engineering concepts as part of the BEAMS Challenge. These fully accessible lesson plans are now available for download and ready for your classroom! Topics include nanoparticles for drug delivery, DNA & gene editing, engineering design process & surgical robots, and biomaterials. Check them out here.
Online biomedical imaging quizzes: There are many types of medical imaging, like x-ray scans, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. But how do these technologies let clinicians “see” inside of our bodies? Take these Kahoot! quizzes to find out.
60 seconds of science videos: These short, informative videos explain a variety of different biomedical engineering topics, such as medical imaging, tissue engineering, and quantum dots. Check out the full playlist here.
